Partnership Grows Dandelion’s Installation Capacity in the Hudson Valley Region<\/strong><\/p>\n

June 19, 2018 \u2013 New York, NY and Poughkeepsie, NY \u2013 Dandelion, a geothermal company that started at Alphabet\u2019s X lab, announced a new installation partner: American Heating and Cooling. As a result, the partnership expands Dandelion\u2019s installation capacity. In addition, it helps the company meet growing demand, which has skyrocketed since the launch of its newest product, <\/span>Dandelion Air,<\/span><\/a> last month.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAmerican Heating and Cooling is a leading home HVAC provider in the Hudson Valley with 35 years of experience,\u201d said Kathy Hannun, Dandelion\u2019s CEO. \u201cWe are thrilled to partner with them in the region\u2019s transition from fuel oil and propane heating to safe, convenient, clean geothermal heating and air conditioning.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Bringing Innovation to Home Heating and Cooling<\/h2>\n

Dandelion and American Heating and Cooling will be offering end-to-end sales and installation services of Dandelion Home Geothermal Systems. The systems provide efficient heating, air conditioning, and hot water. Moreover, they are low maintenance and fuel free, eliminating the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and improving indoor air quality. Each installation includes a Dandelion Air<\/a> heat pump, underground pipes to transfer heat with the earth, a buffer tank for generating geothermal hot water, a Nest Learning Thermostat, and a smart monitoring system.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to be partnering with Dandelion,\u201d said Mike Bloch, co-owner of American Heating and Cooling, \u201cUnlike most industries, heating and cooling technology has not changed very much over the past 35 years. However, Dandelion\u2019s innovation and technology brings home heating and cooling into the 21st century.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Dandelion Home Geothermal Systems can be purchased upfront or with financing. For example, homeowners who pay cash and switch from fuel oil in Poughkeepsie are expected <\/span>to save 60% on annual heating and cooling costs<\/span><\/a> and enjoy an approximately eight year payback on the system. Alternatively, homeowners who finance the system save around 20% on annual heating and cooling costs, with no upfront cost.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the partnership, American Heating and Cooling will handle the site survey and system design. They will also manage installation and provide long-term maintenance for Dandelion Home Geothermal Systems. Dandelion will provide sales, software for installation process and system design, and Dandelion Air heat pumps.
